US border authorities’ encounters with Ecuadorian migrants

Amid economic woes and rising violence, more Ecuadorians are leaving the country and migrating north to cross the border into the United States.

Encounters include people detained by U.S. Border Patrol or deemed inadmissible to the U.S. by the Office of Field Operations, as well as people who are expelled from the U.S. under rules related to the COVID‑19 pandemic. Source: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Graphic: Angeliki Kastanis
